Texas A&M reached the next tier as a football program last season, but the Aggies have much larger goals in mind for 2026.

Those aspirations include clearing the dust off the trophy case and adding the hardware that has alluded the program since 1939. Winning the national championship was a common theme when Texas A&M's representatives, quarterback Marcel Reed, safety Marcus Ratcliffe and linebacker Daymion Sanford were asked about their goals for this season at SEC Media Days.

Despite a disappointing finish to the Aggies' first CFP appearance, they still achieved their first 11-0 start since 1992 and dropped just one regular-season contest. To get to the next level, it will take experienced leaders like the three Texas A&M players who appeared in front of the media in Tampa, all of whom bring talent, football intelligence and grit to the gridiron for the Maroon and White.

With the No. 4 transfer portal haul, No. 7 recruiting class and a slew of returning veterans hungry for more, head coach Mike Elko could be leading the Aggies to more historic heights this year.
