Scourton was in tears as cart left the field and whole team came to give him a hug when he left. A lot of emotions for key player injury Day 1 of camp:
Scourton, a standout and first-team All-SEC selection at Texas A&M University in 2024, was taken by the Panthers in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He'd go on to make eight starts over 17 games during the regular season—tying for a team-leading 5.0 sacks while also compiling 47 combined tackles (seven for a loss), nine quarterback hits and a forced fumble.
The 21-year-old has been projected to keep up his starting role into this upcoming campaign alongside free-agent acquisition and fellow pass rusher Jaelan Phillips.
