Ohio State Makes Early Move on 2029 Basketball Standout
· Yahoo Sports
It's never too early to make an early impression, and Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler is trying to do just that by making an offer on a 2029 prospect.
Noah Woods said on his social media that he had a "wonderful" conversation with the head coach and received a scholarship offer from the University. Woods is a 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Big Ten Rivals Iowa and Nebraska have also offered, along with the home-state school South Dakota.

According to Nick Osen, a reporter from 24/7 sports, "Woods really impressed me. He is one of my biggest stock risers of the weekend, and I will be very intrigued to see where he is ranked in the class of 2029. A 6-foot-8-plus combo forward as I like to call it, he legitimately has some guard skillsets in terms of handles, vision and passing while still being able to defend and play above the rim. It is not hyperbole that he is a top 30 kid in his class, while some I trust believe he could end up even higher."
Woods becomes the third player in the 2029 recruiting cycle to receive an offer from Ohio State. The Buckeyes are also pursuing Bryce Irby and Mason Grivna.
Ohio State's strategy seems simple. If a program makes an evaluation and finds a prospect it likes, being one of the first to make an offer and starting the relationship early can potentially be a deciding factor when the prospect is ready to make a decision.
After a great conversation with @JakeDiebler, I am blessed to receive an offer from @OhioStateHoops. Thank you to Coach Diebler and the rest of The Ohio State staff! @adidasD1MN@JayD1Minnesota@D1Minnesota2029@WHSBoysBask@WHSCoachTobinpic.twitter.com/JjRwZiJvO3

The Ohio State Buckeyes will open the season with a revamped roster. Projections seem to be they could be a top-half team in the Big Ten Conference. Success on the hardwood could lead to more success off the court in regards to recruiting.
