The draw takes place at 21:00, broadcast live on e.tv and SABC, with ticket sales closing at 20:40.
How to play tonight’s PowerBall
PowerBall costs R10 per board. Players match five numbers from a pool of 50, plus a PowerBall number from 1 to 16, either self-selected or via Quick Pick.
Adding PowerBall Xtra costs an extra R5 per board, giving a second shot at winning from the same numbers.
Why tonight’s PowerBall jackpot has grown to R45 million
The last big PowerBall payout landed on Tuesday, 3 July, when a single winner walked away with R72 million. Six rollovers have followed since then, building the PowerBall jackpot tonight to its current R45 million.
PowerBall Xtra tells a similar story.
Its last big win came on Tuesday, 30 June, when R132 million was split three ways under Sizekhaya’s cascading jackpot rule. Seven rollovers later, PowerBall Xtra now sits at R22 million.
That cascading structure also means better odds tonight. By shrinking the number pool, Sizekhaya has improved the jackpot odds from 1 in 42 million to 1 in 33 million.
