In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are in the running to recruit Atletico Madrid full-back Matteo Ruggeri. It has been stated that Spurs would have to rival Liverpool in the race to sign the Italian defender this off-season.

Ruggeri had a solid campaign at the Madrid club recently as he produced a run of impressive displays on the left side of their backline. The 24-year-old picked up seven assists in 47 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side last season across all fronts.

Will Ruggeri Be A Decent Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi?
Ruggeri loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a decent passer as well from the left flank.
The Italian sensation can even chip in by creating a handful of goals for his team. Ruggeri is primarily a left-back but can also serve as a central defender or play as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical style and high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to win the race for his services this off-season.
