As per the report, Rüdiger had told his German teammates that he was going to retire from international football after the World Cup. However, things have changed since Jürgen Klopp was appointed as the new head coach of the German National team. Rüdiger has had a change of heart and wants to work with Klopp in the national team.
Real Madrid renewed Rüdiger for an additional year until the summer of 2027. It will be interesting to see if Klopp calls him up for the September international break. Rüdiger is one of the senior figures in the dressing room at Real Madrid who is well loved and respected by his teammates. If Klopp decides to keep him on, Rüdiger can definitely bring the same energy into the German dressing room as well.
