A King City, Ont., man found out he’d won the $10 million jackpot from the May 29, 2026, Lotto Max draw while in the bleachers watching a family member play baseball.
“I was at a baseball tournament when I noticed I had more OLG emails than usual,” big winner Brandon G. told OLG.
“I figured some of them were spam. When I logged into my account, I initially thought I’d won $10,000. Then I noticed the extra zeros and realized it was $10 million!”
He said he hesitated to celebrate and share his windfall as he was surrounded by people on the bleachers but found a private moment to tell his partner.
“We were both in disbelief! It was exciting, but we knew it wouldn’t feel real until the $10 million hit my bank account,” he told OLG.
Despite the win, Brandon G. still wants to keep working and put the money in the bank with an eye to long-term investment plans.
“I’m still young and have several more years before retirement, but this win gives me and my family a sense of security and peace of mind for the future,” he told OLG.
Not surprisingly, future plans include baseball
Still, they do have a few short-term plans and – surprise – they include baseball.
“I have big sports fans in my family, so we’d love to visit some baseball stadiums in the U.S.” he told OLG. “We’d also like to head west to Edmonton to see the Oilers and Connor McDavid play.”
There’s also talk of a family trip to Italy or Greece as well.
“This win will allow me to slow down a bit and spend more quality time with my family,” he said, adding the lottery win reminded him of a long tradition of checking lottery tickets with his late father.
“While it may seem like a small thing, it was always fun spending time together checking our tickets. My dad would have really enjoyed this win,” he told OLG.
