Surprise Colts' wide receiver enters mix for snaps and roster spot
· Yahoo Sports
A surprise player may be in the mix at the wide receiver position for the Indianapolis Colts.
Following Thursday's practice, the Indy Star's Joel Erickson noted that, as expected, Ashton Dulin, Laquon Treadwell, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine have all taken snaps at outside wide receiver. Those three, in particular, are the presumed favorites competing for the vacant starting spot alongside Alec Pierce and Josh Downs.

But Erickson also noted that Eli Pancol has "gotten chances" with Pierce sidelined.
Eli Pancol went undrafted in 2025 and originally signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was released during roster cutdowns in late August and eventually caught on with the Colts' practice squad in November.
During the 2024 season at Duke, Pancol was a big part of the offense. Lining up mostly on the boundary, Pancol caught 67% of his 89 targets for 800 yards (13.3 YPC) and nine touchdowns.
Erickson adds that it's "far too early" in training camp to know who can be the No. 3 wide receiver, but he mentions both Treadwell and Westbrook-Ikhine making plays on Thursday.
Whether or not Pancol can make the jump from the practice squad to earning playing time remains to be seen, but his presence with this group could very well put him in the mix for a roster spot.
