The Eagles were back on the field Saturday for their third practice of training camp, and there were several players missing — thankfully, only two were due to injuries.

OT Cameron Williams suffered a knee contusion in Thursday’s practice and is still sidelined, and S Cole Wisniewski is dealing with a hamstring injury. Williams’ injury doesn’t appear to be a long-term concern, and hopefully he’s able to get back soon.

Otherwise, LB Jihaad Campbell, DL Ta’Quan Graham, RT Lane Johnson, and WR Elijah Moore were all designated as “excused/not injury related.”

It was a bit of a relief to see so many players missing from practice was due to other circumstances, because initial reports that Fred Johnson was in for Lane early in the day were concerning. But, ultimately, it’s a Saturday in late-summer, and they probably just had other obligations that the team deemed important enough to excuse — like Jihaad Campbell, who missed practice to to receive his degree at summer commencement from Alabama.

During practice

Unfortunately, there were also several injuries during practice:

  • Rookie OLB Keyshawn James-Newby was injured during team drills and ended up being carted to the medical tent.
  • Rookie OL Micah Morris also left practice early and was evaluated in the medical tent.
  • Rookie OG Jaeden Roberts was unable to put any weight on his left leg after suffering an injury during the last play of the developmental period, and had to be carted inside.
