Peralta is in the midst of a career-worst season, as his 4.99 ERA ranks among the worst marks for qualified starting pitchers. He has not posted an ERA that high since 2019, his second year in the majors, when he primarily worked out of the bullpen for the Brewers.
Last year, Peralta had a career-best 2.70 ERA in 33 starts, capping off three-straight seasons of at least 30 starts. That durability followed Peralta to New York, but the production didn't.
