‘The future is his’ — Max Eberl welcomes Bavarian native Nathaniel Brown to Bayern Munich

Nathaniel Brown is right at home at his new club: literally. The Bavarian native has returned to his home state in Germany after two breakout seasons at Eintracht Frankfurt. And he is arriving on the heels of announcing himself as the new German men’s national team starter at left-back at this summer’s World Cup.

“Nene comes from Amberg, he comes from Bavaria. You saw at the World Cup, if not before, what he’s capable of. He developed very well at Frankfurt despite the pressure. He’s a very intelligent player. The future is his,” Bayern executive board member for sport Max Eberl declared in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “When the opportunity arose, we had to go for it. He’s incredibly versatile, he can play in different positions.”
Brown made his debut for Vincent Kompany’s side to enthusiastic cheers from the crowd at Bayern’s 15-0 friendly win over local club FC Rottach-Egern:
Brown is primarily a left-back, but can cover right-back and even midfield. At Bayern, where Hiroki Itō is still at left-back and both midfield and right-back are lacking in major summer reinforcements, that versatility might come in very handy.
