Former Cincinnati Bearcats safety Coby Bryant was carted off during Chicago Bears practice on Monday, Aug. 3, CHGO Sports' Adam Hoge reports.
According to Hoge, Bryant went down grabbing his left knee amidst a 1 v. 1 against Bears tight end Cole Kmet. Hoge says that Bryant was visibly emotional and got onto a cart after his apparent injury.
Bryant, who is entering his fifth NFL season, signed with the Bears on a three-year, $40 million deal during the offseason after spending four years and winning a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks. He started 15 games and recoded 66 tackles (39 solo), four interceptions, seven pass defenses and a forced fumble during the 2025-26 regular season.
The Bears safety played four seasons with Cincinnati from 2017 to 2021, and was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Seahawks in 2022. As a Bearcat, he won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2021, given to the top defensive back in college football.
