The Minnesota Lynx notched their 10th straight win on Sunday after they took down the Indiana Fever, 108-100, at Target Center. It was a marquee matchup between two contenders, with over 16,500 packing the venue.

The star-studded game featured multiple storylines, including the backcourt duel between Olivia Miles and Courtney Williams and Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell. There was also the head-to-head battle of Napheesa Collier and Aliyah Boston. Then, of course, there was the whole brouhaha surrounding Sophie Cunningham.

Aside from the fans in the venue, millions tuned in to watch the Lynx and the Fever battle it out. According to ESPN, it was the second-most-watched game in the regular season in league history.

“Indiana Fever vs. Minnesota Lynx averaged 2.5 million viewers on ABC, up 77% YoY (year-over-year),” said ESPN on X.

It noted that the viewership peaked at 3.1 million.

The Lynx and the Fever did not disappoint, as they delivered a competitive game. Indiana tried to climb back from a 15-point deficit, but Minnesota did not budge.

Miles had 28 points, four rebounds, and six assists, while Williams added 27 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Collier tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Mitchell scored a game-high 37 points, including 6-of-8 shooting from long range. Clark collected 19 points and 10 assists, while Boston added 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

The Lynx improved to 25-6, while the Fever fell to 19-11.

The WNBA has enjoyed an exponential rise in popularity, viewership, and attendance in recent years, a testament to the steady growth of the women’s game.
