An ESPN NFL reporter has made a striking claim about Baltimore Ravens rookie Lane after watching him in training camp.

Jamison Hensley, who has covered the team for nearly three decades, says he has rarely seen anything like it.
That comes as the Ravens continue preparations for the new season, with several young players pushing for roles in the offence.
Lane, a third-round pick, has quickly become one of the standout names in camp.

Hensley shared his thoughts on social media after another strong day from the rookie.
He wrote: ‘In 27 years of covering the Ravens, I’m not sure I’ve seen a rookie have a training camp quite like wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. Every day, Lane produces a highlight-making catch.’
That is a huge statement given his experience around the team.
Lane’s performances have not gone unnoticed inside the building either.
Reports from camp suggest he has been making difficult catches consistently, including several one-handed grabs during drills.
He has also been working with the starters at times, which says a lot this early.
Meanwhile, there is an opportunity opening up.
Zay Flowers is dealing with a quad issue, while the Ravens are still looking for reliable options behind him.
That has allowed Lane to take more reps and build chemistry with the quarterbacks.
There are still areas to improve.
He has had the odd drop in practice, but the response has been positive, often following mistakes with standout plays.
Coaches appear encouraged by that resilience.
Head coach Jesse Minter recently pointed to Lane’s growing consistency and ability to win contested catches.
That could prove important.
