Penn State Has One Obvious Jersey Sponsorship Decision to Make

Teams are now starting to work with sponsorships to put on their jerseys. We've seen programs like Notre Dame do so recently, as well as some other big-time college football programs.
We also heard Pat Kraft come out and state that he plans to find a sponsor for Penn State. This is obviously something the Nittany Lions are going to partake in at some point over the next few months. The only question now is what Penn State wants to do in terms of who it plans to use as its sponsor.

There are many names that have been brought up, including Sheetz, Reddit, and even Hershey. With Hershey being such a big part of Penn State due to the medical school, it isn't crazy to say that the brand would be a perfect fit for the Nittany Lions. According to one writer, Hershey should actually be viewed as the top potential sponsor for Penn State.
“No brand feels more authentically Penn State than Hershey.
“It is one of Pennsylvania’s most iconic companies, nationally recognized, family friendly and located close enough to State College that the partnership would feel genuine rather than purely transactional. From a visual standpoint, a simple HERSHEY’S wordmark would also blend naturally with Penn State’s traditional uniform, preserving the clean aesthetic while adding one of the strongest heritage brands the university could realistically partner with,” Kyle Golik of Nittany Sports Now wrote.
While Hershey would be a lot of fun to see, I also recognize that all of this is going to come down to money. If Penn State gets a call tomorrow from some international brand who wants to put patches on its jersey, that's exactly what's going to happen, and there's nothing that anybody can do about it.
This is fully going to be based on how much money somebody is willing to give the Nittany Lions, and I don't really think there's a problem with that. College sports are expensive, and every dollar the program can get should be viewed as a good one.
