The principal wasn’t the only authority figure present; he was joined by members from the Greater Alberton Education Transport Cooperative Limited (GAETCOI), who alerted both police officers and the principal about the situation.

According to the Alberton Record, the incident unfolded before midday in a parking spot used by scholar transport drivers, around the Alberton Civic Centre and Ring Road East.

The police found crates of beer, plastic cups and five litres of wine inside the minibus, prompting them to escort the three drivers and learners to the Alberton Police Station pending investigations.
