12. No word on if starters will play Friday
I asked Payton if he will play Bo Nix on Friday He was noncommittal and said he will let media know
— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) August 10, 2026
Payton wouldn't say if Bo Nix and other starters will play in Atlanta (on turf) in the team's preseason opener. We should get word on that front later this week.

Dobbins left practice early and did not return. Payton said after practice that the running back has a soft-tissue injury and should be fine.
10. Reporter takeaways after Monday's practice
Longest practice of Broncos training camp so far by my count comes on Day 9. 2h 28m.

Literally ran the clock as it was a BIG run heavy day. Went more to the pass the past 40 mins or so though.
Lots of work ahead of the preseason opener.#KOABroncosCamp@KOAColorado

There have been three clear winners from Broncos Camp thus far based on reports
— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) August 10, 2026
Pat Bryant, aka Patty Ice: Emerging as the WR3 and figures to be a playmaker this season
Jonah Elliss: Every practice he's out there making plays and getting sacks. Another talented pass rusher…

8. CB Brent Austin and DL Eyioma Uwazurike stand out
Echoing what D.J. Jones said last week: Blocking Eyioma Uwazurike has been a chore in this camp.
— Nick Kosmider (@NickKosmider) August 10, 2026
Also, a UDFA who keeps showing flashes: CB Brent Austin.
7. J.K. Dobbins left practice early

Hoping nothing serious for the veteran running back.
Did not see J.K. Dobbins after he left practice midway through.

6. Broncos QB Bo Nix looks healthy
Nothing to worry about with Bo Nix.
— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevens) August 10, 2026
Bo sprinted to the left, got the edge and took off.
Great run by Bo.
Great to hear that Nix is moving around well. He's performing, too.
Nice team period for Bo Nix

Connections to Pat Bryant for first down, Courtland Sutton with a big catch vs. KAD, and an absolute drop in Dot to Troy Franklin right over J-Mac and in front of safety for 20+.

5. Broncos rookie OL Kage Casey continues to impress
Kage Casey was dominant in his one-on-one reps today, as he mostly has been throughout camp. Exceptionally strong lower body and he is tough to dislodge, but he shows the quickness to get said and defuse a second move, too.

4. Pat Surtain working on side field
Quite busy on the side field. Prominent players working out there include Pat Surtain II, Jaylen Waddle, Marvin Mims Jr., Luke Wattenberg, Nate Adkins and 2025 All-Pro Devon Key.

Perhaps a veteran rest day for PS2.

Lot of good news on the injury front for the Broncos today:
— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevens) August 10, 2026
Marvin Mims Jr, Luke Wattenberg, Enyi Uwazurike and Nate Adkins have all returned to practice.
Jordan Turner is also practicing, meaning he’s off the NFI.
Denver's getting healthy.

WR Marvin Mims
TE Nate Adkins
C Luke Wattenberg
LB Jordan Turner (began camp on NFI)
WR Jaylen Waddle still out.

It sounds like Wattenberg and Mims are limited, but it's great to hear they're back on the field.
Couple guys in pads but don’t appear like they’ll be involved much:

C Luke Wattenberg
WR Marvin Mims https://t.co/wtIUb20xgO
Good to see that Waddle is moving around and catching footballs.
