Barcelona add Robert Lewandowski to special group of players on club’s website

The legacy built by Robert Lewandowski during his time on the books of La Liga giants Barcelona has over the last 24 hours been solidified by those in a position of power at the club.

This comes amid confirmation that the Pole has been added to the ‘Legends’ section of the Blaugrana’s official website.
Frontman Lewandowski is of course fresh off bringing his stint in Catalunya’s capital to a close earlier this summer. After the Camp Nou brass made the call not to offer a new contract to the 37-year-old, Lewandowski opted to take his talents to Major League Soccer, with the Chicago Fire.
All told, the former Bayern Munich man spent four years in La Liga, dating back to the summer of 2022.
Lewandowski was not always a favourite amongst some sections of the Barcelona fanbase, who long called for a more technical striker capable of linking play at an elite level. The numbers, though, speak for themselves…
Over the course of his four-year Blaugrana spell, Lewandowski took to the pitch on 193 occasions. And along the way, the Polish icon racked up 120 goals and 22 assists, giving rise to seven trophies.
This past weekend, the decision-makers at the Camp Nou therefore moved to make clear their appreciation for the prolific attacker.
