The Mets signed him to a minor league contract in January. He got into 12 Grapefruit League games with New York, hitting .222 (6 for 27) with one home run, three walks and five strikeouts.
Arroyo was released from his minor league contract June 1, but re-signed with the Mets a day later. His next major league at-bat will be his first since 2023.

A former first-round draft pick (25th overall) by the San Francisco Giants in 2013, Arroyo never lived up to his prospect billing in the big leagues.
In his career with the Giants (2017), Tampa Bay Rays (2018-19), Cleveland Guardians (2020), and Boston Red Sox (2020-23), Arroyo never played more than 87 games or took more than 300 plate appearances in a single season.

Arroyo is a career .252/.299/.394 hitter with 24 home runs and 120 RBIs in 295 MLB games. The Mets are his third organization in the last three seasons, almost all of which has seen Arroyo play at Triple-A.
Arroyo got into 30 games with the Milwaukee Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, in 2024. He slashed .237/.305/.360, losing nearly two months in the season’s first half to an injury.

Injuries cropped up again in 2025, as Arroyo missed 20 days in April and all of July with separate ailments. When healthy, he thrived with the Philadelphia Phillies’ Triple-A affiliate. In 45 games with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Arroyo slashed .314/.384/.485 with five homers and 37 RBIs.
The Tampa native still has time to latch on with another organization before the 2026 minor league season is complete.
