Finally, we'll get some news amid a drought. August and September are basketball's slowest months of the year. Because of that, hype builds up for the annual schedule release. The NBA is set to announce its 2026-27 regular season schedule this week.
Expect the Oklahoma City Thunder to be one of the NBA's top attractions again. They enter the 2026-27 season as one of the co-title favorites — alongside the San Antonio Spurs. Because of that, they should once again max out the number of times they can be on national TV.
The NBA is set to announce some of the national TV games on Tuesday, Aug. 11. ABC's 'Good Morning America' and NBC's 'Today Show' will have the honor of doing so. Odds are, we'll know some of the games that the Thunder will play in. And then the league is set to drop its full 2026-27 regular season schedule on Thursday, Aug. 13.
Even with the roster changes they made this summer, the Thunder are expected to be in the thick of the title conversation. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the NBA's top superstars. The two-time MVP is accompanied by All-NBA talent like Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams.
