LINDEN, TX (KTAL/KMSS) – It's been two years since Linden-Kildare has won a game. Now with a consistent staff and program, the Tigers, along with head coach Dillon Surratt, hope to put an end to that losing streak.

"When you’re always overlooked, nobody thinks you have a chance, that’s your time to get out there and do something," said junior Breckin Wells.
This will be Linden-Kildare's second year with Surratt.
"I don’t know it all. There’s no doubt about it. I learned that you have to have good people, a good coaching staff, good players, we have a lot of really great players here at Linden-Kildare looking to put some Ws in the win column," Surratt said.
Year one wasn't perfect, but many lessons were learned by both the players and coaches.
"It was hectic. You think you have all the answers until it's your answers. The good thing is I have good guys to lean on and depend on and great mentors that I can count on to call and ask questions. I talk to the kids too and get their feedback and see where they’re at on things," Surratt said.
This year Linden-Kildare looks to its veterans for talent and leadership.
"Anywhere he asks me to go I perform my best at that position and do what he asks of me," said Maddox Hankins.
"Those are the guys when its tough, hard rock mining those are the guys we’re gonna lean on, give them the ball, or ask them to make the tackle to save the game," Surratt said.
Year two with Surratt brings familiarity, continuity, and the Tigers are certain, victory.
"I’m just excited to prove everyone wrong honestly. Every year we’ve been the underdogs, always getting last in district or something like that. Ready to get out there and prove some people wrong," Wells said.
"Mostly I’m excited about just playing with the team and playing for Coach Surratt. We’re gonna get a few wins this year and its gonna be great," Hankins said.
