Packers' Tucker Kraft Receives Status Update for Week 1
· Yahoo Sports
The Green Bay Packers received some positive injury news on Thursday as star tight end Tucker Kraft is on track to play in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Kraft tore his ACL in the 2025 season, but played at an elite level prior to the injury. In eight games, Kraft had 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns. He was establishing himself as one of the best tight ends in the league and was the top target in the Packers' offense.

Green Bay got off to a quick start in 2025, and they were among the favorites to win the Super Bowl. However, injuries to key players throughout the season, including Kraft and Micah Parsons, derailed their year. While Kraft is close to a return, Parsons won't suit up until around mid-October at the earliest.
The Packers are in their Super Bowl window, and having Kraft healthy for Week 1 will be pivotal for the offense. He will be a featured piece for an offense that will be leaning on the passing attack in 2026.
USA TODAY Network via Reuters ConnectGreen Bay doesn't have a ton of depth in the running back room, setting up the team to rely on Kraft, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jayden Reed, and the passing game to lead the way.
The receiver core has some solid talent and having them on the field healthy alongside Kraft could give Jordan Love the weapons to have an MVP-caliber campaign.
Love was efficient in the 2025 season, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
He was third in the MVP race through Week 14, but the Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos, with multiple starters going down with injuries, led to the Packers not winning another game.
However, if Green Bay's offense can stay healthy, plus the added need to rely on the passing attack, Love is positioned to have the best season of his career.
Kraft will play a major role in helping Love and the offense have success as they look to make a Super Bowl push in the 2026 season.
