Arthur Melo and Juventus are in talks over the termination of his contract so that he can become a free agent and join another club, and Juve is interested in that solution.
The Brazilian initiated the idea, but it appears the club has also been considering it. They have been waiting for him to make the first move because they have become frustrated with continuing to deal with him as one of their players.
Arthur is now set to leave, and that would create space in the wage budget as well as in the squad. That could then allow Juventus to agree a deal to sign Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian wants to play for Juve, and the Old Lady also wants him in their squad, with the club prepared to sign him once one of their players leaves.
Arthur departure could help Juventus
Juventus want to sell the likes of Arthur and Teun Koopmeiners before the transfer window closes. Removing Arthur from the wage bill would therefore give the Bianconeri greater room to complete their plans.
His departure could also help resolve a situation that has been frustrating the club. Arthur has struggled to establish himself as an important part of the team, and Juventus now appear ready to find a solution that allows both parties to move forward.
The termination of his contract would mean that the Brazilian could consider his next destination as a free agent, while Juventus would be able to focus on the players they want to bring into the squad.
Kessie move could accelerate
Tuttojuve reports that if Arthur’s contract is cancelled, Juve could accelerate their interest in Kessie and add him to their squad.
The Ivorian has been waiting for Juventus and wants to join the club, meaning there is already an agreement in principle from the player’s side. The Bianconeri simply need to create the necessary space before making their move.
Kessie could therefore become the direct beneficiary of Arthur’s departure. Juventus have made it clear that they want the Ivorian, while he is equally keen on joining them.
For now, the club must complete the discussions over Arthur’s contract before taking the next step. If they can reach an agreement, Juventus could then accelerate their pursuit of Kessie and finally bring the midfielder into Spalletti’s squad.
