Harry Kane was named Men’s Player of the Year, Vincent Kompany earned Coach of the Year honors, and Giulia Gwinn was voted Women’s Player of the Year per a release from FCBayern.com. It marks the first time in the history of the awards that the men’s and women’s Player of the Year titles have gone to the same club.

The recognition did not stop there.

Michael Olise finished second, Joshua Kimmich was fourth and Manuel Neuer placed tenth in the men’s voting. On the women’s side, Klara Bühl finished second, with Pernille Harder seventh, Linda Dallmann ninth, and Franziska Kett tenth.

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer highlighted the historic achievement.

“A Bayern double – never before have the men and women’s Player of the Year awards gone to the same club. Congratulations to Harry and Giulia, as well as our coach Vincent. When men’s and women’s football makes history together, then that’s Bayern, making a mark. We’re proud of this result,” said Hainer.

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also praised Kane’s remarkable season.

“We saw already with the presentation of the Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer that there’s no getting away from Harry with the big individual awards this year, because he’s shone on every stage. Big congratulations to Harry now on being voted Germany’s Player of the Year. He’s the first Englishman ever and the first Bayern player for five years – another milestone in an outstanding career. Congratulations as well to Vincent and Giulia. Kane, Kompany, Gwinn – three awards, one Bayern DNA. This historic treble is also complemented excellently by our further top-ten finishes. We’re very proud of our teams,” Dreesen remarked.

Board member for sport Max Eberl said that Kane has left the club “speechless.”

“We’re slowly running out of superlatives for Harry, but I’m happy to be left speechless. He’s already been England’s Player of the Year, and now he’s won it in Germany. That shows that where Harry goes, success follows. We’re also proud of Vincent, Giulia and the many other Bayern players who finished in the top ten. They all represent the extraordinary team performances by the men and women at Bayern. These awards are given to individuals but only made possible by everyone,” Eberl stated.

Bianca Rech, director of women’s football, put the focus on the collective effort behind Gwinn’s achievement.

“Bayern can be proud of people like Giulia, who represent the performances and success of our teams. Others in our squad last season could’ve deserved to win the award, like Klara in second place. Individual awards in football are down to the entire team and show how working together bears fruit in the form of attractive football, top performances and titles,” said Rech. “We’re also pleased for Pernille, Linda and Franziska coming in the top ten. Every trophy is a mission not to let up in the coming season and to keep going. Congratulations as well to Harry and Vincent!”
