Lesotho’s Princess Senate Seeiso appointed UNDP ambassador

Princess Senate Seeiso from the Kingdom of Lesotho has been appointed as the National Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Her duties include acting as a bridge between the UNDP and local communities, “fostering greater public engagement” to improve the lives of Basotho. She will focus on matters related to equality and sustainable development.

According to an official statement from the UNDP, the young royal will also “place particular emphasis on women, decent work, social inclusion, and the goals that underpin Lesotho’s development agenda.”

Additionally, the spirit of community service led Princess Senate to launch her foundation, Shoeshoe ea Moshoeshoe, in March 2026.
In an empowering school drive initiative, she presented essentials such as school shoes, stationery, and sanitary pads for girls.
She described the school campaign as: “We are reminded that charity starts at home, and my commitment to the Basotho child does not end here.”

Her Royal Highness Princess Senate Seeiso, first-born daughter of King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Seeiso, is the granddaughter of the late Basotho monarch, King Moshoeshoe.
