Kentucky Wildcats News: Angry Kenny Minchey and Healthy Sam Greene

· Yahoo Sports

Good morning, BBN!

Kentucky football is officially in game week, and Will Stein seems to like what he’s seeing from his Wildcats ahead of Saturday’s opener against Youngstown State.

That starts with quarterback Kenny Minchey, who apparently has a little extra edge right now.

“I like Kenny when he gets a little angry. Not in a bad way,” Stein said Tuesday. “He’s just kind of got some S-H-I-T to him, and I love that.”

Stein doesn’t need Minchey to be Superman, either. His message to the Notre Dame transfer has been simple: trust the preparation and play his game.

“We don’t need him to go be Michael Jordan or LeBron James or freaking Tom Brady,” Stein said. “Just go be Kenny Minchey, and we’ll be fine.”

There’s also great news on the defensive side.

After suffering a season-ending ACL injury last November, EDGE Sam Greene is officially back. Stein confirmed Greene will be “fully available” Saturday.

Greene flashed serious potential before the injury, including two tackles for loss and the game-sealing sack against Auburn.

An angry Minchey and a healthy Greene?

Not a bad way to enter Week 1.
