The announcement of an arrest came a day after Peel Regional Police issued a warning for the public to remain vigilant in that area of Brampton, while also appealing for information about a suspect connected to the case.
Police said the first incident happened at about noon in the Dixie Rd.-Clark Blvd. area, where a woman in her 20s was shopping. She was approached by an unknown male who allegedly grabbed her buttocks from behind before pushing the suspect away and contacting police.
They said the other incident happened just before 2 p.m., when a girl under the age of 18 was waiting at a transit terminal near Central Park Dr. and Queen St. E. before being approached by an unknown male.
The suspect asked a series of personal questions before sitting beside her on the bench. When she tried to leave, the suspect allegedly grabbed her breast and buttocks before she broke free and contacted police.
Police said a member of the public was able to identify a suspect after they released a photo on Tuesday, leading to an arrest being made by the 21 Division criminal investigation bureau.
Olusegun Onidare, of no fixed address, was charged with breach of a probation order and two counts of sexual assault.
He was held for a bail hearing.
