Dual meets for the 2026 Arizona high school boys' and girls' swimming and diving season begin Thursday, Sept. 3, across the state. Here is a look at The Arizona Republic's top high school boys' swimmers and divers expected to make a splash this season. Vote in our poll for the swimmer/diver you think should be No. 1 on this list. Print readers can find the poll online with this story at azcentral.com. Poll closes 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Top 10 boys swimmers, divers
1. Langston Lindsey, Arizona College Prep, Sr.
He was The Arizona Republic's Swimmer of the Year last season. He holds eight school records. Versatile in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly. He is a two-time state champion in the 50 free and 100 back.
2. Porter Ellsworth, Campo Verde, Sr.
He is committed to Arizona State. He was the 500 free and 200 individual medley Division II state champion last season. He was timed in 4 minutes, 33.48 seconds in the 500 free. Then, in the Speedo Winter Junior Championships West, he beat that mark with 4 minutes, 28.73. And he won the 200 IM in 1:51.78.
3. Gavin Willyerd, Mesa Mountain View, Jr.
He won a tightly contested 500-yard freestyle race at last fall's Division I state championships. One of the best distance swimmers in the western United States. He was second in the 200 free at state last year.
4. Patrick Dunn, Brophy Prep, Sr.
Talented distance swimmer who won the 500 free Division I championship as a sophomore two seasons ago. He is looking to get back on the top podium after finishing fourth in the 200 free and third in the 500 free last year. He has committed to Dartmouth.
5. James Michael Hess, Vail Cienega, Jr.
He is the defending Division II state champion in the 100 fly. Rises in the biggest meets. Tough, hard-working swimmer who puts in a great amount of time in the pool to be a champion.
6. Ryder Hamann, Chaparral, Sr.
He might be the top 1-meter diver in the state, capturing the Division I title last season for the Firebirds.
7. Collin Evans, ALA Gilbert North, Sr.
He is the defending Division III state champion in 1-meter diving. He will be looking to repeat.
8. Christian Beltran, ALA Gilbert North, So.
He was third in Division III in the 500 free and third in the 100 back. He's had significant drops in times since the end of last high school season, but he should be a main contender for state titles in several events.
9. Ewan Cain, Millennium, Sr.
He's one of the most versatile swimmers in the state. Has a chance to win state titles in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
10. Kayden Hysong, Shadow Mountain, Jr.
The state-record holder in the pole vault, Hysong is among the state's top sprinters in swimming, the 50 and 100 free.
