We will update weather conditions and status of the game as information is provided.
The Middle Tennessee State football season opener against visiting Murray State on Sept. 5 is currently in a weather delay.
Visit solvita.blog for more information.
The delay was announced at approximately 5:25 p.m. CT — kickoff originally was scheduled for 6 p.m. CT — meaning the start still could be relatively close to schedule if no other lightning strikes are detected in the area. The teams will still have to have some warm-up time once the delay is over.
The Blue Raiders are coming off back-to-back 3-9 seasons but won their final two games last year. Murray State (0-1) opened its season Aug. 27 with a 28-14 loss to Eastern Illinois after going 1-11 in 2025.
MTSU will be wearing its white uniforms for the game and honoring the late Dolly Parton with a jersey patch of her signature and butterfly logo.
