Inquest reveals how Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo died aged 43

British-Nigerian businessman and influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo has died at 43.
He passed away following complications from a cosmetic procedure undergone during a trip to Thailand back in March.

An inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court has since detailed the circumstances of his death.
Ubiribo died of a pulmonary embolism after hyaluronic acid used during the procedure migrated to his lungs, according to the inquest.
Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo: what happened during the trip
Ubiribo, also known online as Denisi or Ego, was on a trip to Bangkok with his wife, fashion designer Danielle Simba Allen.
While there, on 5 March, he underwent a genital enhancement procedure at an unnamed clinic.
The procedure involved 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine.
After the procedure, the couple went for a massage at the Bangkok Marriott, where Ubiribo began experiencing chest pain and lost consciousness twice.
He was taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital.
There, he was initially alert enough to answer questions from medical staff.
He then lost consciousness again ahead of a planned CT scan, and died the following day, on 6 March.
His family doctor in London told the inquest that Ubiribo had previously undergone joint surgery and was prediabetic.
Otherwise, he was considered healthy.

Ubiribo built a following of roughly 185 000 people on Instagram, largely centred around his high-end lifestyle.
He owned a $1.1 million home in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw neighbourhood and a $600 000 apartment in London, and frequently documented travels to destinations including Paris, Bali and Cape Town.
He was laid to rest in London in late May, with mourners including Nigerian musician Davido.
Paying tribute on Instagram, one friend wrote that “even in death, the lifestyle was kept for you,” reflecting on the send-off London gave him.
Igho Tiny Ubiribo: why medical experts are raising concerns
The procedure Ubiribo underwent falls into a largely unregulated corner of cosmetic medicine.
According to the BBC, penis enlargement procedures don’t require the same medical qualifications typically mandated for other cosmetic surgeries in many countries.
British urologist and andrology specialist Professor Vaibhav Modgil has previously warned that these procedures can carry serious risks.
These include loss of sensation, erectile dysfunction, infection, and permanent scarring.
In rare cases, they can also lead to the severe complication that caused Ubiribo’s death.
Cosmetic procedures like this one deserve real caution, proper research, and above all, a genuinely qualified, trustworthy practitioner, not a quick decision made on a holiday abroad.
