‘Don’t know how to cut’ – Fans blast Jonathan Kuminga after he snubs Steph Curry and Chris Paul during press conference

Jonathan Kuminga’s comments in his Minnesota Timberwolves introductory press conference have left Golden State Warriors fans angry, as he snubbed Steph Curry and Chris Paul to give his new teammate LaMelo Ball praise.

The seventh overall pick in the 2021 draft signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves as a free agent just last week. He was traded to the Atlanta Hawks last season by the Golden State Warriors, and in his time there, the young player put up some big performances.
This led to multiple teams looking to bring him in as a free agent, with the Timberwolves eventually winning the sweepstakes. It was revealed that Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards played a major part in bringing Kuminga to Minnesota.
In his introductory press conference, Kuminga was asked what excites him about sharing the court with All-Star LaMelo Ball.
“I think his ability of passing the ball,” said Kuminga.
“I was watching him workout yesterday, I was watching him do certain things.
“Just the way he passes the ball it’s incredible, I’ve played with so many great point guards in my career, I never played with somebody that passes as good as LaMelo so I am looking forward to it, I’m excited.”
As Kuminga said, he has played with some great point guards, namely Steph Curry and Chris Paul.
The two have 24 All-Star appearances between them. They also combined for 15.5 assists per game combined in their careers.
Now Curry is known for his elite shooting, but he still has some great passes in his locker. Last season, he averaged 4.7 APG, the lowest total in his career.
He has averaged as high as 8.5 APG in his time as a Warriors player, and although his scoring is elite, Curry has the ability to make great reads.
Chris Paul, on the other hand, is famously known as the ‘Point God’. He has won the assists title five times in his career and is second (12,552) only to John Stockton on the all-time assists list.
Snubbing both these greats to give Ball credit did not sit well with the NBA community.

Kuminga’s time with the Warriors did not end like many would have wanted.
He was considered to be a pivotal piece of their future, but with his role on the team not defined, Kuminga started getting frustrated leading to an unceremonious exit.
His most recent comment angered a lot of fans, especially the Dub nation, who once cheered for him.
“You played with Chris Paul bro you just don’t know how to cut,” said one X user.
Another added, “You can’t make this up You played with 1 of the top 5 point guard of this generation and the greatest pg of all time & now You are saying “lamelo ball” can pass better Maybe I don’t know ball.”
A user pointed out the fact that Chris Paul was Kuminga’s teammate for a season. “Didn’t he play with CP3 lmao,” he wrote.
An X user also said, “I’ve Never Liked Chris Paul but cmon.”
“He thinks spamming flashy passes makes you a good passer,” another fan commented.
Kuminga is now playing with two of the game’s most talented young stars, LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards.
The hope is that he is able to prove a point in Minnesota and bag that massive contract that he has been after since his time with the Warriors.
