Former FSU CB makes impressive interceptions for San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers started their 2026 season with a 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday in Australia, and former FSU Seminole Renardo Green was a major reason why.

While the 49ers ended up blowing out the Rams, they had just a 7-3 lead halfway through the second quarter and the Rams had the ball at San Francisco's 36-yard line facing a 3rd and 10. Matthew Stafford attempted to hit Puka Nacua for a big gain, but Green made a leaping interception to end the threat.

That wasn't the only play Green made in the game. He ended the game with three tackles and allowed just two receptions on three targets for 23 yards.

Green is entering his third season with the 49ers after they took him with the 64th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He emerged as a starter for them as a rookie, starting seven of the 17 games he played in before starting all 14 games he played in last year. In 32 career games, he now has 124 tackles, two interceptions, and 24 pass breakups.

He wasn't the only former FSU player in the game, with Braden Fiske getting the start along the Rams' defensive line. He recorded two tackles and two quarterback hurries in the game.
