Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is rolling back the years in one of the best early-season stories across Europe's top five leagues.

At 37, Aubameyang might have been forgiven for winding down a career that has taken in goal-laden stops at Saint-Etienne, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona, and others, but he's doing anything but.
Instead, the Gabonese goalscorer is back inLa Liga shining for one of Spanish football's fallen giants. Aubameyang has four goals and two assists in four games for Deportivo La Coruna after signing for the Spanish side in the summer.
The 2000 La Liga champions returned to the top tier last season following eight years in the lower leagues. Champions at the turn of the millennium andChampions League semi-finalists four years later, Deportivo's fall was one of the most dramatic in European football. The Galician club eventually dropped as low as Spain's third tier before beginning the long road back.
Aubameyang is now leading the charge. His four goals see him trail only Raphinha and Sergio Camello amongLa Liga's leading scorers, as the veteran shows he's still got plenty left in the tank.

Aubameyang's latest league effort also saw him reach uncharted territory.
His late winner at Villarreal brought up 250 goals in Europe's top five leagues, and made the first African footballer to achieve the feat.

It is another landmark moment in a career that has seen him win Golden Boots in both the Bundesliga and the Premier League, and the names underneath Aubameyang put the scale of his achievement into perspective.
Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba are regarded among the greatest African footballers ever, while Salah has spent much of the past decade rewriting goalscoring records in the Premier League and for Liverpool.
Aubameyang has scored goals in four of Europe's major leagues and represented some of the continent's biggest clubs.
Helping Deportivo re-establish themselves in La Liga would be quite the addition to the story.
