Laurinda gets closure, but it turns explosive
Laurinda, now single after Obren’s exit, packed her bags to leave the Married at First Sight Mzansi experiment. Their final closure conversation didn’t stay calm for long, though. Obren blew up over her earlier remarks about his evasiveness, accusing her of disrespecting his religion; a line fans have already turned into meme fodder.

The episode’s clearest feel-good moment came from Lesiba’s visit to Matseliso’s family. He arrived with a sheep for her father and gifts for her uncles – a gesture that landed perfectly with a man who, back in Episode 1, was visibly hurt to learn his daughter had married a stranger.
Her father thanked Lesiba in a speech, welcomed him into the family, and told him to relax. Matseliso herself was clearly moved. Her father did press Lesiba on one thing, though: his self-introduction at the wedding as the “King of Lifestyle,” and what exactly that means for his marriage.

If Lesiba and Matseliso had the episode’s high point, Esethu and Prince had its lowest. The pair were already rattled going in after a difficult conversation about his ex, plus Esethu’s discovery that Prince has disappearing messages switched on in WhatsApp, set the tone before the braai even started.
Esethu’s family didn’t let it slide. They confronted both of them over Prince’s earlier refusal to meet them when they’d made the effort to visit, and his excuses didn’t hold up under questioning. It wasn’t all bad news, though. Esethu’s aunt, who missed the wedding, offered forgiveness and a second chance.
Then it was Prince’s turn to face the music: his mother and aunt learned, in that moment, for the first time, that he was married. It was as awkward as it sounds. Married at First Sight Mzansi viewers noticed that his aunt was warmer, but his mother came around once she accepted that the marriage was already a done deal. When the women from both families finally sat together, they bonded over the shared experience of being blindsided by the wedding itself.
Esethu’s aunt also took the opportunity to raise a cultural red flag: under Nguni lobola custom, Prince still needs to perform marriage rites that were done out of order. Esethu used the moment to press his family directly about his previous marriage to his ex.
