Nico Schlotterbeck back on Real Madrid’s radar
That is perhaps why Real Madrid are now once again looking out for options in the transfer market, with Nico Schlotterbeck back on their radar.

According to Sport BILD (h/tBernabeu Digital), Real Madrid are one of six clubs interested in the services of the Borussia Dortmund defender.
Having recently returned from injury, Schlotterbeck had signed a new contract at Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.
But the contract includes a release clause worth €60 million, which is a bargain given the fact that he is considered by many as the best defender in the Bundesliga.
Why Schlotterbeck could be the right fit for Real Madrid
The German international could be an ideal signing for Real Madrid, as the club look for a long-term replacement for Antonio Rudiger.

Much like Rudiger, Schlotterbeck is a natural leader. But what makes him a standout presence on the field is his imposing aerial and physical presence.
Schlotterbeck is also one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in world football, who is also capable of operating at left-back or even at defensive midfield, if necessary.
Other than simply providing passes in between the lines, the German is also capable of launching long balls forward, which should be of great help for players like Yan Diomande, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.
Real Madrid, though, will face stiff competition for Schlotterbeck’s services, with no less than six teams interested in his services.
