This came with a view to keeping an eye on the progress of the former’s Bo Hegland.
Hegland, for his part, is a 22-year-old Norwegian youth international, who has turned heads across all of Europe with his performances over the course of the season to date.
All told, in 21 appearances in the Allsvenskan, the attacking midfielder has racked up eight goals and a thoroughly impressive 15 assists.
And such production, as alluded to above, has not gone unnoticed on the part of those behind the scenes at the reigning Spanish champions. As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing Swedish outlet Expressen:
‘FC Barcelona, through its scouts, watched the 21st round match of the Swedish league between Djurgarden and GAIS Gothenburg at the 3Arena Stadium last Monday in order to take note of the progress of Bo Hegland.’
The Blaugrana, it is understood, have earmarked Hegland as a potential future market opportunity.
