(Video) Liverpool fans will love what Barcola and Gakpo did in reaction to Szoboszlai wonder goal

Dominik Szoboszlai stunned Anfield with a simply spectacular goal in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, and even some of his teammates couldn’t quite believe what they witnessed.

The Reds were tentatively holding to a one-goal advantage over their visitors going into stoppage time when the Hungarian settled the tie once and for all in show-stopping fashion, crashing a thundering volley from 30 yards past helpless Spurs goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
The 25-year-old has plenty of previous for long-range goals, but the strike that he produced last night may well have been the best of the lot.
Barcola and Gakpo reactions to Szoboszlai screamer were brilliant
Liverpool’s official X channel shared a clip of the Szoboszlai goal an hour after the match, and the reactions of two of his teammates summed up just how spectacular a moment it was.
Cody Gakpo – whose assist for the goal was a piece of artistry as he chipped the ball over Lucas Bergvall – performed a knee slide on the sodden turf inside the penalty area, while Bradley Barcola put his hands in his head in disbelief at what he’d just seen from the Reds’ number 8.

Those reactions said it all about how spectacular a goal it was
The instant reactions from the two forwards spoke volumes about the quality of the Hungarian’s strike, which added to brilliantly taken goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Gakpo earlier on the night.
Barcola’s stunned silence may well have been replicated by plenty of Liverpool fans in the stands and watching at home, while the Dutchman’s knee slide was as if he’d just scored himself, although he can rightly take plenty of acclaim for his exquisite assist.
Szoboszlai didn’t actually have the best of games prior to that moment, with the 25-year-old losing three of his four duels and giving up possession cheaply at times (Sofascore), but he once again showed his ability to come up with a clutch moment in some style.
While we’d still like to see more from him in terms of his overall performance, few players at Anfield can match his propensity to win a game from nowhere with a piece of show-stopping brilliance.
As Andoni Iraola said after the match (via liverpoolfc.com), ‘everyone is thinking he might score’ from that range, and they were proven right once more.
