Detroit signed defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike to its active roster from the practice squad. The Lionsreleased the former second-round pick on Sept. 11 before re-signing Onwuzurike to its practice squad prior to its Week 1 contest against the New Orleans Saints.

The Lions also elevated offensive tackle Devin Cochran and center Seth McLaughlin from its practice squad. Detroit ruled out starting offensive linemen Christian Mahogany (hip) and Blake Miller (knee) on Wednesday. Lions starting center Cade Mays also began the season on injured reserve and is eyeing a mid-October return.

With Mahogany and Miller sidelined, Ben Bartch and Larry Borom are slotted to start at left guard and right tackle, respectively. Juice Scruggs started at center for the Lions in Week 1. Scruggs didn't have an injury designation on Wednesday, but he did begin the week as a limited participant with a knee injury.

Elevating McLaughlin provides another option for the Lions at center. The 6-foot-4, 304-pound center has not yet seen game action in his NFL career. McLaughlin signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Lions back in January after spending his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals last year.

Cochran, a 6-foot-7, 322-pound tackle, is in his second season with the Lions. The Georgia Tech product also began his career with the Bengals. Cochran appeared in nine games during the 2024 season with the Bengals, including one start at the Tennessee Titans.

Onwuzurike, 28, has appeared in 42 games and started 10 in his NFL career. The 6-foot-3, 304-pounder has registered 68 tackles (35 solo), 16 quarterback hits, four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two passes defended and one forced fumble.

Kickoff between the Lions and Bills on Thursday night is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video.
