· Yahoo Sports
Los Angeles Ramswide receiver Puka Nacua missed Friday’s practice with a hip injury, adding another concern to the team’s preparations for Monday Night Football against the New York Giants.
Nacua was not seen during the portion of Friday’s practice open to the media. Benjamin Royer of The Orange County Register reported the absence, while subsequent reporting identified a hip issue as the reason he did not participate.

The timing gives the Rams another situation to monitor before they travel to New York for Monday night’s matchup. Nacua has already dealt with an injury issue this year, making Friday’s absence notable despite the team having several days before kickoff.
Puka Nacua injury creates concern for Rams
Nacua entered the 2026 season after an impressive campaign in 2025 and remains one of the most important players in Sean McVay’s offense.
He also started the season strongly against the San Francisco 49ers. Nacua caught five passes for 74 yards on nine targets in the Rams’ Week 1 matchup, giving quarterback Matthew Stafford a reliable option in the passing game.
The receiver had dealt with psoas soreness during training camp but was available for the season opener and handled a normal workload. His latest hip issue therefore becomes something to watch closely as the Rams prepare for their second game of the season.

The team will continue to monitor his condition through the weekend, and his participation in the next practice sessions should provide a clearer indication of where he stands.
If Nacua cannot play, the Rams would have to adjust their offensive approach and place more responsibility on the rest of Stafford’s receiving options. Cooper Kupp would be among the players expected to see increased opportunities if Nacua is unavailable.
For now, however, there is no need to look beyond the confirmed information. Nacua missed Friday’s practice because of a hip injury, and his status for Monday night remains something to monitor as the Rams prepare for the Giants.
