Caitlin Clark had plenty to celebrate after the Indiana Fever beat the Toronto Tempo 103-85, but the Fever star also found time to make a light-hearted observation about the venue.

Clark joked about hearing birds chirping inside Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum after Indiana secured its eighth win in 10 games.
It was another strong outing for Clark, who finished with 28 points, 14 assists and six rebounds.
The result also came with a record-breaking achievement, as she recorded her 10th game this season with at least 25 points and 10 assists, more than any other player has managed in WNBA history.

Speaking after the game, Clark reflected on playing in Toronto and admitted the venue had offered a rather unusual experience.
“I think this is the first time I’ve played in an arena that has birds chirping, so congrats, Toronto, on that. Um, hopefully we get to play at Scotiabank the rest of the way. But the fans were amazing.”
Clark was clearly not looking to criticise Toronto’s supporters, instead taking time to praise the reception the Tempo have received during their inaugural season.
“Like, it’s been cool even when I watch them on TV. Like, every single night it seems like this place is packed, and the way Canada has just really rallied around this team and supported them.”
She also praised Tempo coach Sandy Brondello and the team’s fans, saying she had “a lot of respect for everybody that’s on that side” before adding that she had enjoyed both games in Toronto.
The comment was not Clark’s first light-hearted complaint about the conditions in Toronto. Earlier in the season, she joked that it was “a million degrees in here” during a game against the Tempo.

The Fever now sit at 27-14 with only three regular-season games remaining before the playoffs.
Their next game comes at home against the Washington Mystics on Sunday, while Toronto will face the New York Liberty in its final home game.
