'He's insane': EJ Crowell FSU hurdles turning heads with Alabama football

Kalen DeBoer was impressed by the Alabama football run game against Florida State.

The Crimson Tide coach said he saw backs who saw holes, made players miss and ran over secondary and third-level players consistently in the Crimson Tide's 50-36 win Saturday, Sept. 19.
DeBoer didn't have to mention the one Alabama running back who jumped over a Florida State player or two.
"We got EJ (Crowell) hurdling guys," Alabama center Racin Delgatty said. "It doesn't get much better than that."
Alabama freshman running back EJ Crowell finished with 51 rushing yards on seven carries and a touchdown, adding two hurdles against Seminoles players that left Crimson Tide players aghast.
Delgatty said Crowell hadn't shown that skill in practice. He never talked about it. It's just something that came out against the Seminoles.
"You just seen what EJ did," Delgatty said. "Trae'shawn too, but this guy's hurdling kids at, what is he, 17? It's insane."
Through three games, Crowell is already working his way into being a focal point of the Alabama run game. He has three touchdowns on 17 carries, averaging more than 6 yards per carry.
It's a player Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell trusts. But Crowell is a player, Russell says, that isn't showing nearly enough of what he can do.
"That dude's phenomenal," Russell said. "He's a ballplayer. He's a great player. He's only showing y'all half of what he can do, and I'm sure that coming into these next couple weeks, he's going to show you more phenomenal things."
