The Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots played one of the more boring games of Week 2, but it was an important time for the Patriots to get back in the win column after a disappointing 13-10 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.
Drake Maye threw three interceptions in that game, including a game-sealing one in the fourth quarter.
It’s tough to say things were much better for the Patriots on Sunday in Week 2 against a below-average Steelers team, though the defense did what it had to do.
The Patriots allowed only 235 yards of total offense, including just 144 passing yards.
They also came away with an interception and a fumble recovery. The Patriots also had four sacks, a promising sign of what this defense can be.
However, head coach Mike Vrabel understands that he shouldn’t take this as more than just a win. Speaking about the Steelers offense, he seemed to take a shot at it.
“I don’t think this was one of the best offenses we’ll face all year,” Vrabel said, per the Boston Globe, “so I try to keep things in perspective and go from there.”
While he might not be trying to be mean about the Steelers offense, everybody in football knows this just isn’t an offense that’s too impressive.
The Steelers have been well below average on the offensive side of things recently, but we still have to give credit to the Patriots for doing what was needed to secure a win.
