Toronto Police investigating 2 bodies found in burning cars at separate locations

Toronto Police are separately investigating the discovery of two bodies in two burning cars within 90 minutes of each other overnight in opposite ends of the city.

A police spokesperson told the Sun on Tuesday that they will “consider the incidents being related,” given the crime scene similarities and close timing connection.
The police spokesperson stressed that it was still early into both investigations.
Smoke, explosion reported in Scarborough
Police were first called to the Scarborough intersection of Reesor Rd. and Steeles Ave. East at around 11:24 p.m. on Monday to reports of a vehicle on fire.
“It was reported that there was smoke seen coming from the park, and what sounded like an explosion,” police told news outlet CP24 in an email.
Both Toronto Fire Services and police arrived on scene. They found a dead body inside the vehicle.
The cause of death is currently unknown and the Toronto Police Homicide squad was notified.

Second burning vehicle found an hour later
Ninety minutes later, at around 12:55 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Royal York Rd. and Edenbridge Dr. in Etobicoke to report a vehicle engulfed in flames at James Gardens Park.
Both firefighters and police arrived on scene and found a dead body inside the vehicle.
As with the first case, the cause of death is unknown and the homicide squad was also notified.
