Reese has officially completed the third WNBA regular-season campaign of her career, leading the Dream to a 30-14 record and the No. 4 seed.

While Reese prepares for the playoffs, she could take a moment to savour an incredible campaign where she’s expected to be a Defensive Player of the Year contender in her first year with a new team.

Angel Reese dominates the single-season rebounding record after third WNBA season

Reese averaged 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds this season, with her rebounds ranking as the third-highest single-season average for rebounds in WNBA history.

The two seasons that are ahead of Reese’s 2026 campaign? In second place is Reese’s second season with the Chicago Sky (2025), where she averaged 12.6 rebounds.

The all-time leader for this record is… Angel Reese once again, this time for her rookie season (2024), with rebounding averages of 13.1 per game.

Before Reese entered the WNBA, this record belonged to Sylvia Fowles for 11.8 rebounds per game in the 2018 WNBA season. Now, future players have not only Fowles to beat but also three Reese seasons.

Reese is the only player in WNBA history to have averaged 12 rebounds or more over a season, and she has done it in her first three years in the league.

Angel Reese still far away from all-time rebounds total record

Reese dominating the single-season averages for rebounds in her career is incredible because it is not a totals-based statistic.

The extra WNBA regular-season games now and in the future will only make it harder for players to match Reese’s consistent volume.

WNBA legend Tina Charles holds the all-time total rebounds record with 4,262, something that’s still far off for Reese, who is at 1,344 for her career.

However, if Reese maintains her current career rebounding average of 12.6, she would need only 232 more games to break the record.

With the WNBA’s rapid expansion also leading to the schedule gradually increasing, Reese will most definitely break this record if health is on her side.
