Predicting SEC football scores in Week 4: Texas looks for another signature win

Get your popcorn ready for a loaded Week 4 slate of college football. In the SEC, there are four top-25 showdowns, with six total in college football.
After beating Ohio State in Week 2, Texas will have another challenge. This time, the Longhorns hit the road and head to Knoxville to face Tennessee. Ole Miss has another challenge, taking on Florida. And Mississippi State looks to keep its magic alive against Missouri.

Then there are the two losing teams from Week 3. Texas A&M will face the fighting Lane Kiffin‘s at LSU this weekend.
Here’s how each SEC game could play out.

No. 1 Texas vs. No. 14 Tennessee

Tennessee has one of the top offenses and defenses in the SEC, but the Vols’ biggest challenge this season has been 1-2 Georgia Tech.
Week 4 will be a good litmus test to see just how good Brandon and the Volunteers’ offense is. Texas heads to Knoxville and the Longhorns have their statement win. That came in Week 2 as Texas scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to beat Ohio State.
Tennessee is young, but it’s good. Texas has some veteran leadership, and it’s proven. Rocky Top will be loud on Saturday, but the veteran team will prevail.

No. 4 Ole Miss vs. No. 21 Florida

Florida is the home team, and the Gators are newly ranked, but being a 3.5-point favorite is a bit shocking considering Ole Miss has two big-time wins under its belt and is ranked No. 4 in the country.
The Rebels are coming off a massive win over LSU, and Pete Golding’s team beat Louisville in a high-scoring affair to start the season. The key to this game is if running back Kewan Lacy plays, and if he does, how healthy he will be. Lacy is considered a game-time decision, and he’s a big part of what Ole Miss does.
This game will come down to how Florida can slow down Trinidad Chambliss, who is arguably the best quarterback in the country. Not having Lacy will hurt Ole Miss, but Chambliss is the engine that makes Ole Miss go.
He’s healthy, and Ole Miss will get yet another big win.

No. 22 Texas A&M vs. No. 10 LSU

No offense to Kentucky, but if Texas A&M is a College Football Playoff contender, it has to take care of business at home against the Wildcats.
There are some CFP implications on the line there with both teams suffering a Week 3 loss. Both quarterbacks have had turnover issues this season. Aggies’ Marcel Reed has tossed three interceptions, while Sam Leavitt has five for LSU.
Texas A&M was supposed to have an elite defense this season, but it hasn’t shown up quite yet. LSU is the home team and Lane Kiffin will have his team ready.
Final score: LSU 31, Texas A&M 21
