The NBA offseason is starting to come to a close, which means organizations around the league are starting to make some of the final roster moves ahead of their respective preseasons. This certainly applies to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are gearing up to bounce back off of a season that saw them make it to the Western Conference Semifinals, dropping the series to the eventual NBA finalists, San Antonio Spurs.
According to a recent report, it's looking like Minnesota will be giving a former Philadelphia 76er a chance to make the team.
KJ Martin signs deal with the Timberwolves

As reported by Hoopshype's Michael Scotto, the Timberwolves have signed KJ Martin to a deal, with the NBA veteran looking to compete for one of the team's roster spots.
Martin hasn't played in the NBA since the 2024-25 season, having spent that season split between the Sixers and the Utah Jazz, after a trade at the deadline. During his time in Philadelphia, the former second-round pick averaged 4.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, which is a reduction from what he was doing during his time with the Houston Rockets.
Across his three seasons in Space City, Martin averaged 10.5 points, receiving much more playing time, including 49 starts in the 2022-23 season.
Since his last time in the NBA, Martin has applied his craft with the Ningbo Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association, alongside former Sixer Darius Bazley and current Sixer Tacko Fall.
However, it appears Martin will get another chance to show the NBA he deserves a spot in the league in the coming weeks.
