In their first match since a historic run to the 2026 World Cup's Round of 16, Canada opened their 2030 World Cup cycle with a 1-0 win over Chile at Toronto FC's BMO Field.
In-form Atlético Madrid striker Jonathan David scored the CanMNT's lone goal in the 12th minute, tapping home a rebound after Chile goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux denied Cyle Larin from point-blank range.
Chile finished the match with nine men after Lucas Cepeda and Gabriel Suazo were sent off.
CanMNT head coach Jesse Marsch called up 10 MLS players for this camp, a list that includes Inter Miami CF goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, Toronto FC defender Richie Laryea and LAFC midfielder Mathieu Choinière.

Peru rebounded from their 4-1 loss against the United States to earn a 1-1 draw with Mexico at Red Bull New York's Sports Illustrated Stadium.
Jairo Vélez opened the scoring with a far-post finish in the 26th minute before Víctor Guzmán leveled for El Tri four minutes into the second half.
La Bicolor feature Orlando City midfielder Wilder Cartagena, who started against both the United States and Mexico.
Former Lions teammates Pedro Gallese and Yoshimar Yotún are also on Mano Menezes' roster.
