Golfers compete in Division I girls, Division II boys district tournaments

A pair of district golf tournaments took place on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Here is how local golfers performed in the two touraments.
Division I girls district golf
Two Richland County golfers took to the course during the Division I girls district tournament at Stone Ridge Golf Club on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Lexington senior Aniyah Monica carded a solid score of 46-41-87 which tied her for ninth place overall. Ontario junior Isabella Deel shot a 53-48-101 which was good for a tie for 35th overall.
The Ashland Arrows competed in the tournament as a team as they shot a 408 and landed in eighth place in the team standings.
Natalie Kohler shot a 45-44-89 which tied her for 12th overall while Chloe Crunkilton shot a 56-43-99 which tied her for 33rd, Samantha Mauriocourt had a 51-57-108 which tied her for 45th, Sophie Hochstetler had a 55-57-113 which was good for 51st and Sdrienne Teevan had a 66-54-120 which tied her for 55th overall.
The Top 2 teams of the tournament (Toledo St. Ursula Academy and Sylvania Northview) and the Top 2 individual scores not from the Top 2 teams (Ava Hesselschwardt of Defiance (40-40-80) and Kennedy Thacker or Perrysburg (42-39-81)) moved on to the Division I state tournament.
Division II boys district golf
Two area golfers battled a tough Maumee Bay State Park track in the Division II boys district golf tournament.
Galion's Cullen Hart and Shelby's Grady Schroeder tied for 15th overall. Hart, a junior, shot a 41-42-83 while Schroeder, a senior, shot a 37-46-83.
The Top 2 individuals were Grady Short of Archbold and Benjamin Routson of Genoa Area with matching 38-36-74s. Short won the first playoff hole to earn individual medalist honors.
Ottawa-Glandorf won the district team title with a 332 while Swanton took second with a 333. Both teams will advance to the Division II state tournament.
