Jared Curtis injury update, Clark Lea on status of QB for Vanderbilt vs Georgia
· Yahoo Sports
Jared Curtis is banged up and hasn't been full go in practice, leading to him being listed as questionable on the SEC injury report, Clark Lea said Oct. 1.
The 5-star freshman quarterback was set to face off against No. 2 Georgia (4-0, 2-0 SEC) at a matchup at Sanford Stadium on Oct. 3. However, it is now unclear whether Curtis will play for Vanderbilt football (3-1, 0-1).

"I'm hopeful," Lea said. "I think every day he's felt a little better, and he's done a little more in practice. So certainly not ruling him out. Hopefully in the next 48 hours, we see the improvement where he feels comfortable to go out there and play, but he's our starting quarterback."
Should Curtis not be able to go, Blaze Berlowitz, who started the first two games, is prepared to see time at quarterback.
Lea declined to go into specifics about the injury, but he said the injury happened on a particular play in the Auburn game.
"I don't want to go into detail because I don't have to, but it stemmed from a play in the Auburn game, a singular play that created the issue," Lea said. "It's not something that is long term, but it's something that is challenging. ... The good news is he's improved every day. Obviously, he wants to play bad, and we want to support him in that, but also want to be smart as we finish the week out here."
