The Yankees’ postseason got off to an excellent start when they saw off the Boston Red Sox with comfortable 9-0 and 9-2 wins.
After a short break, the New York outfit return to action on Sunday against the Rays, and Stephen A. Smith has expressed his worry about facing Drew Rasmussen.
Stephen A. Smith thinks Drew Rasmussen ‘seems to got’ the Yankees number
Speaking via his YouTube channel ‘Stephen A. Smith Sports’, he said he’s not excited about the Yankees having to go up against Rasmussen and suggested that the Rays player ‘seems to got their number’.
Smith stated: “Am I excited about them going against Drew Rasmussen in game one against Tampa? No. He went two-and-one with a 2.86 ERA in four starts against the Yankees this year, striking out 26 with only four walks in 22 innings.
“Yankees hit 182 against them. I ain’t excited about this brother. He seems to got their number. I’m worried about that.”
It will be a tough test for the Yankees, who have a 278-211 overall record against the Rays in the regular season.
However, while they are ahead in regular games, they are actually 2-3 in the playoffs.
Still, the Yankees are a historic team and have by far and away the most World Series wins of any MLB side, becoming champions on 27 occasions.
The Rays, on the other hand, have only appeared in the series twice (2008, 2020), losing on both occasions.
